OUR ORIGIN
Stems from Victor Hugo Green
The name Greenbook Communities is inspired by the legacy of Victor Hugo Green, an African American postal worker from Harlem, New York City. Green created The Green Book, a travel guide that helped African Americans navigate safe places to eat, sleep, and travel during the Jim Crow era. Just as Green identified safe spaces for his community, Greenbook Communities is committed to creating quality, affordable places for people to call home.
